Montbéliard is an old fortified city in the Franche-Comté region of eastern France. It's best known as the birthplace of the Automobile Club de France, the world's oldest automobile club. The city is also home to the Montbéliard Works, a subsidiary of the German industrial giant Siemens. The company manufactures train locomotives, diesel engines, and other heavy machinery.
