Prades is a small town in the Pyrénées-Orientales department of southern France. It is located in the historical region of Roussillon. The town is best known as the home of the Pablo Casals Festival, a music festival that takes place every year in late summer. The festival is named after the cellist and conductor Pablo Casals, who was born in Prades. The town is also home to the Catalan painter, Antoni Tàpies, who was born in 1923.
