Samothraki is a small, mountainous island in the Aegean Sea, north of the island of Evvia and east of the island of Lesbos. It is the sixth largest island in Greece. Samothraki is a place of great natural beauty, with forests, hiking trails and pristine beaches. The capital and main port, Kamari, is a charming, whitewashed town with narrow streets and a lively, cosmopolitan atmosphere. The island is home to a few small villages, as well as the archaeological ruins of the ancient city of Samothrace, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Samothraki is also home to some of the best windsurfing in the world.
