Croatia
Croatia is a small country located in Central Europe. It is bordered by Slovenia to the northwest, Hungary to the northeast, Serbia to the east, Bosnia and Herzegovina to the southeast, and Montenegro to the south. The official language of Croatia is Croatian.
Croatia has a long coastline on the Adriatic Sea and is a popular tourist destination for its beautiful scenery, its medieval towns and its many beaches. Some of the other popular tourist destinations in Croatia are Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Split and Plitvice Lakes National Park. Croatia is a country with a long history and a rich culture. Some of the historical and cultural sights in Croatia are the Diocletian's Palace in Split, the Cathedral of St. James in Šibenik and the Euphrasian Basilica in Poreč.
The cuisine of Croatia is diverse and influenced by the cuisines of the Mediterranean, Central Europe and the Balkans. Some of the popular dishes in Croatia are Croatian sausage (kulen), pancetta (prsut), black risotto (crni rižot) and strukli (a type of cheese pastry).
