Two medieval fortresses still stand guard over the town - Mirabella and Starigrad. You can climb up to both fortresses for views over Omiš and the coastline. The steep hike to Starigrad Fortress takes about an hour but offers the most extensive vistas.
Getting to Omiš
Buses run frequently between Split and Omiš, taking about 45 minutes. If you're driving from Split, follow the coastal road south. The nearest airport is Split Airport, about 40 km away. In summer, you can also reach Omiš by boat - excursions run from Split and nearby islands. Once in town, you can explore Omiš on foot. Renting a car or scooter allows you to venture further along the coastline and into the mountains.
