Village in 🇮🇹Italy

Garteddi/Galtellì

Galtellì is a small, sleepy town in the heart of Sardinia’s Barbagia region, surrounded by rolling hills and granite peaks. The town is famous for its pecorino cheese, which is made from the milk of the local sheep. The cheese is a staple of the local diet, and can be found in most of the restaurants and bars in town. There are also several small artisanal cheese producers in Galtellì, who make a variety of different types of pecorino.

Galtellì is a great place to get away from the crowds and enjoy the authentic Sardinian countryside. The town is surrounded by beautiful hiking trails, and there are plenty of small villages in the area that are worth exploring. The people of Galtellì are friendly and welcoming, and the town has a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere.
