Mals is a small town in the Venosta Valley in the Italian Alps. Surrounded by towering mountain peaks, the town is a popular base for hikers and skiers in the winter, and for cyclists and mountain bikers in the summer. The main square is a busy hub of activity, with a lively market selling local produce and handicrafts, and a number of restaurants and cafes. The narrow streets leading off the square are lined with traditional stone houses and are a great place to wander and soak up the atmosphere. Just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre is the Venosta Valley Museum, which tells the story of the region’s history and culture.
