Spello is a small town of about 5,000 inhabitants in the province of Perugia, Umbria, central Italy. It is perched on a hilltop at an elevation of 473 metres (1,542 feet) above sea level. The town is located in the far northeast of the province, bordering the province of Terni. Spello is known for its many well-preserved Roman ruins, and for its production of wine.
