Tokyo’s glitzy Minato ward is home to the city’s financial district, high-end shopping and most of its embassies. The area is known for its luxury hotels, trendy restaurants and nightclubs. It’s also one of the most expensive places to live in Japan. But with its abundance of high-end stores and dazzling nightlife, Minato is a popular destination for visitors to Tokyo. The ward is centred on the high-rise district of Roppongi, home to the city’s best nightlife and foreigner-friendly bars and clubs. The area is also home to the Mori Art Museum and the Tokyo Tower. Other notable attractions in Minato include the Rainbow Bridge, the Shinagawa Aquarium and the Akasaka Palace.
