Aït Benhaddou is an ancient mud-brick city in Morocco, located on the Ouarzazate River, south of the High Atlas Mountains. It is one of the most spectacular and best-preserved examples of ksar architecture in Morocco. The city has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Aït Benhaddou is a very popular tourist destination, as it is located on the route of the Royal Caravan from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert. Many scenes from popular films have been shot in and around the city, including Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and Game of Thrones.
