Essaouira's Medina

The Port

In June, the Gnaoua World Music Festival brings together musicians from around the world to celebrate Gnaoua music, a traditional Moroccan genre with roots in sub-Saharan Africa.

Travel Information
You can reach Essaouira by bus from Marrakech, a journey of about three hours. The city also has an airport with direct flights from several European cities. Essaouira has a mild climate year-round, with temperatures rarely exceeding 30°C even in summer. However, strong winds can make it feel cooler, especially in the evenings.
