Dudinka is a small town in the far north of Russia, on the banks of the Yenisei River. It’s a transit town for those travelling to or from the Russian Arctic, and is home to a large military base. There’s not much to see or do in Dudinka, but it’s a great place to get a sense of Russian life in the Arctic. The town is surrounded by beautiful snow-capped mountains, and the locals are friendly and welcoming. There are a few small shops and restaurants, and the locals will be happy to show you around. If you’re lucky, you might even get to see the Northern Lights.
