Two Historic Churches
The Neo-Gothic Arlöv Church from 1900 has a 45-meter-tall tower visible throughout town. Its red brick exterior and pointed arches are typical of late 19th-century Swedish church architecture. In the countryside, the Old Church of Burlöv dates to the 1100s, with original sandstone walls and medieval frescoes inside.
Sugar Production in Arlöv
The Arlöv Sugar Factory on Sockerbruksgatan has operated since 1869. While raw sugar processing will move to Örtofta, the factory continues to produce specialty sugar products under the DanSukker brand and custom liquid sugar solutions for industrial customers.
Industrial Heritage
The AB Svenska Järnvägsverkstäderna (ASJ) railway factory employed hundreds of local workers throughout the 1900s. In the 1970s, ASJ expanded into car manufacturing, producing Saab Sonett II and III sports cars. Many of the original factory buildings remain, now converted into offices and workshops.
