Tanzania
Tanzania is a country located in East Africa. It is bordered by Kenya to the north, Uganda to the west, Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the south, and Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique to the east. The country's name comes from the two states that merged to form the United Republic of Tanzania: Tanganyika and Zanzibar. The capital city is Dodoma, although the largest city is Dar es Salaam.
Tanzania is home to Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Other notable landmarks in Tanzania include the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti National Park. Tanzania is a popular tourist destination due to its diverse wildlife and landscape, as well as Zanzibar's pristine beaches. Visitors to Tanzania can go on safari to see animals such as lions, elephants, and giraffes. There are also many birds, including flamingos, storks and vultures.
The cuisine of Tanzania is a mix of African, Arab, and Indian influences. Popular dishes include ugali (a maize dish), pilau (a rice dish), and samosas (fried pastries).
