Kananga

Kananga is the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo's Kasai-Central province. It is located on the Sankuru River. The town is served by Kananga Airport.

Kananga is an important commercial center in the province and the country as a whole. The town has a large market where Congolese traditional textiles are sold. The area is also known for its diamonds.

Kananga is the site of the University of Kasai and the Institut Supérieur des Beaux-Arts. There is a hospital in the town.
