Swiss National Park

The Swiss National Park is a haven of pristine wilderness in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Established in 1914, it is the oldest national park in Europe and one of the largest in the world, encompassing more than 170 square miles of snow-capped peaks, rushing waterfalls and dark forests. With more than 70 miles of hiking trails, the park is a paradise for hikers and nature lovers, while its scenic mountain roads are a popular destination for cyclists and motorists. Wildlife lovers can watch ibex and chamois grazing on the slopes, and in the winter months the park is home to a large population of deer.
