Visitors can explore the partially completed 17th-century Plumlov Castle, which sits above Podhradský Pond. The town is also home to Plumlov Reservoir, built in 1936, where you can swim, fish, or relax on the shore during summer months. Plumlov's calm atmosphere and proximity to other interesting locations in the region make it a worthwhile stop for travelers.

Exploring Plumlov Castle

Plumlov Castle is perched on a hill above Podhradský Pond. Prince Karl Eusebius of Liechtenstein designed this structure in the 17th century, but construction stopped after his death in 1684, leaving it incomplete. The town of Plumlov now owns the castle and is working on its restoration. You can choose from three guided tours to see the castle's historical exhibits, weapon collections, furniture, and art. There's also a special tour of the unfinished areas, including the attic and prison.

Enjoying Plumlov Reservoir

Plumlov Reservoir, one of the oldest in the Morava River basin, was constructed in 1936. During summer, you can swim in the reservoir, try your hand at fishing, or spend time on the shore. If you want to stay longer, you'll find several campsites and accommodations near the water, allowing you to spend a few days in the area.
