Czechia
Czechia, also known as the Czech Republic, is a peaceful country in Central Europe bordered by Austria, Germany, Poland and Slovakia. Czechia has a rich history dating back to the 9th century when the country was founded by the Bohemian duke, Wenceslaus I.
The country is well known for its beautiful castles, palaces and medieval towns as well as for its spas and ski resorts. Prague, the capital of Czechia, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe.
Czechia is also famous for its beer, and pilsner beer originated in the city of Plzeň. There is a large number of world class breweries in the country, and if you want to enjoy a meal with your beer, the cuisine of Czechia is hearty and filling. Some popular Czech dishes include svíčková na smetaně (beef sirloin in cream sauce), knedlíky (dumplings), and goulash.
