Iserlohn is one of those towns that time seems to have forgotten. The cobbled streets and half-timbered houses have an old-world charm, and there’s a relaxed and easy-going atmosphere that’s hard to find in the bigger cities. It’s a great place to wander around, and the locals are friendly and welcoming. The town is home to a few interesting museums, including the Mining Museum and the Doll and Toy Museum, and there are some nice parks and gardens to explore. The highlight for many visitors is the old town walls, which offer great views of the surrounding countryside. Iserlohn is also a great base for exploring the Sauerland region, with its forests, lakes and rolling hills.
