Moers is a small town on the banks of the Rhine in western Germany, about 25km south of Düsseldorf. It’s best known as the birthplace of the composer Johannes Brahms, and there’s a small museum in the town dedicated to him. The Altstadt (old town) is picturesque, with narrow streets and a mix of half-timbered and renaissance houses, and there’s a lively arts and nightlife scene. The town is also a convenient base for exploring the Lower Rhine region, with its pretty villages, rolling hills and vineyards.
