Wermelskirchen
Wermelskirchen is a charming small town located in the Bergisches Land region of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
It is a convenient 30-minute drive from Cologne and Bonn, and is well-known for its annual Volksfest (People’s Festival), one of the largest and most popular festivals in the region. The town is also home to a variety of interesting museums, including the Deutsche Bergbaumuseum (German Mining Museum), the Römermuseum (Roman Museum), and the Eisenbahnmuseum (Railway Museum). There are also several lovely parks and gardens, including the Schlosspark (Castle Park), the Botanischer Garten (Botanical Garden), and the Waldpark (Forest Park). And, of course, Wermelskirchen is a great place to enjoy a traditional German beer in one of the many local pubs and breweries.
