Slemani is a city in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. It is the capital of the Slemani Governorate. The city is located on the banks of the Khabur River. The population of the city is estimated to be around 1,000,000. It is the second largest city in the Kurdistan region, after Erbil. The city is known for its high-quality fruit and vegetables, which are exported throughout Iraq. The city is also home to a number of textile factories.
