Town in 🇵🇱 Poland with a population of around 61 thousand people.
Tarnowskie Góry is a small industrial town in the southern Polish province of Silesia. It’s an unlikely tourist destination, but there’s a lot to see and do here. The town is home to a huge copper mine and smelting plant, and the resulting mountains of slag heaps and industrial architecture are an impressive sight. There’s also a beautiful old town centre, with a lively market square and a host of colourful churches. The town is also a convenient base for exploring the nearby Silesian Beskids mountain range.
