Pančevo is a small, industrial town in central Serbia that’s best known for its sprawling steel mills. While the pollution and noise from the mills can be a bit of a turnoff, the town does have a few charms. The main square is a pleasant place to hang out, with a few restaurants and cafes, and the old town is full of narrow streets and traditional houses. The town is also home to a few interesting museums, including the Museum of Aviation and the Museum of the Serbian Revolution. There are a few decent beaches along the Danube River, and the town is a convenient base for exploring the surrounding countryside.
