Tarsus is a city in southern Turkey, near the Mediterranean coast. It's known for its ancient ruins, including the Temple of Diana, and for being the birthplace of Saint Paul. The city has a well-preserved old quarter, with narrow streets and Ottoman-era houses. Tarsus Fortress, overlooking the harbor, is a medieval castle with gates, towers and dungeons.
