Vlamertinge is a small village in the Belgian province of West-Flanders. It is located in the Ypres Salient, on the edge of the Houthulst Forest and is best known for the Battle of Vlamertinge, which took place in August and September 1918. The village was almost completely destroyed during the battle, but has been rebuilt since. The village is also home to the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Vlamertinge, which tells the story of the battle and the role that the village played in it.
