Liestal

Liestal is a small town in the canton of Basel-Country in Switzerland. It is located on the banks of the Birs River, in the foothills of the Jura Mountains. The town is best known for its medieval castle, which is one of the best preserved in the country. The castle is open to the public and offers wonderful views of the town and the surrounding countryside. The town is also home to a number of interesting churches, including the Protestant Church of St. Peter and the Catholic Church of St. Michael. There are a number of small shops and restaurants in the town, and the locals are known for their friendly and welcoming nature.
