Delitzsch

Delitzsch is a small town in the eastern German state of Saxony. It’s best known for its association with the composer Felix Mendelssohn, who was born here in 1809. The Mendelssohn House is now a museum dedicated to his life and work, and the composer is buried in the town’s Protestant cemetery. There are also several other interesting museums in Delitzsch, including the Delitzsch Toy Museum and the Delitzsch Wine Museum. The town is located on the banks of the Elbe River, and there are several parks and gardens to enjoy along its banks. The Delitzsch Christmas Market is a popular annual event, and the town also hosts a summer festival each year.
