San Gavino Monreale is a small town in the province of Sassari, in the north-west of Sardinia. It is famous for its Santu 'Èngiu, a Romanesque-Pisan style church, and the nearby Royal Palace of Monreale, built by the Norman king William II of Sicily. The latter is one of the most important examples of Norman architecture in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The town is also known for its traditional handicrafts, in particular its filigree gold and silver work.
