Nitra

Nitra is a small city in western Slovakia that’s home to a large Benedictine monastery and the ruins of an ancient fortress. The monastery is one of the largest and most important in Slovakia and is well worth a visit. The fortress is even more impressive, and is one of the largest and best preserved in the country. The city is also home to a large number of museums, including the Slovak National Museum and the Nitra Gallery. There are also a few interesting churches, including the impressive St. Martin’s Cathedral. The city is a great place to relax and take in the Slovakian countryside.
