Amalienborg

Amalienborg is not just a royal residence; it's a living part of Danish history. The palace complex is the winter home to the Danish royal family and has been since the 1700s. Comprising four identical classical palace façades around an octagonal courtyard, Amalienborg is known for its Royal Guard, the 'Den Kongelige Livgarde', and the daily changing of the guards ceremony.

Besides the ceremony, the palace square offers beautiful views of the waterfront and the Opera House. The nearby Amaliehaven garden provides a peaceful escape with modern sculptures and fountains.
