Kramatorsk is a city in eastern Ukraine, located on the banks of the Seversky Donets River. It is the administrative center of the Kramatorsk Raion. Population: 295,766 (2015 est.)
Kramatorsk is an important industrial center of the Donbas region. It has several metallurgical plants, as well as plants producing heavy machinery, electrical equipment, and chemicals. There are also textile mills and food-processing plants.
The city was founded in 1779 as a settlement for Russian ironworkers.
