What people say about Vienna

We had a great time! I loved the clubs and bars.. and the Wiener schnitzels😋

I lived in Vienna for about a year and have visited it as a tourist too. The public transport is really good; you don't need a car to get anywhere. There are some fantastic restaurants and the city's parks are beautiful. There's a nice city-sponsored bicycle-sharing scheme that effectively lets you bike from and to anywhere in the city for free. What I didn't like is the overall atmosphere and the people. Don't get me wrong, they aren't rude or dislikable; yet they aren't warm and welcoming either. I can't quite place the feeling. The weather trends to be quite dull too.

Perhaps my favorite city in the world. Sometimes I dream about moving here! Why? Complete freedom of movement, it is very very walkable and has perhaps the best public transport I have experienced. The city is energetic but somehow still calm, I guess due to being a large city full of friendly composed people. The city honors its beautiful old architecture and outstanding classical music without becoming a boring museum. Instead, it creates a nice contrast with the new modern Vienna. I like simple things in life. I like getting something yummy from a Viennese bakery and sitting down in one of the parks on a sunny day. Last but not least. I found the food to be great. Both the local a little bit heavier cuisine as well as excellent Italian restaurants for lighter meals.

If you're looking for a beautiful city with captivating coffee culture, a delicious range of cakes and desserts and the most amazing architecture, Vienna is the perfect place to visit. From an architectural standpoint there are a lot to see such as palaces and churches. In general, life there is expensive, rentals and a variety of sightseeing tours by professionals have a great amount of cost. Personally speaking, if you are willing to visit Vienna there is it’s incredible long history, but also amazing parks and gardens that are worth exploring. In terms of navigation within the city I found that is very easy to walk around, and it’s a clean place overall but moving around the city using busses is quite expensive as well in addition to the bus sometimes being late. Something unexpected that happened while we were there was extreme changes in weather during some days, so be prepared by packing a variety of clothes! I've visited Vienna yes, and I’ve made a lot of memories while being there, I am not so excited to be willing to get there as soon as possible due to the overall cost but it’s a place I would try visiting again if and when possible for my budget. - G.Georgiou
